The Dailey Method
Zia teaches The Dailey Method at the Mission-Castro studio in San Francisco. The Dailey Method is an intelligent system of alignment, strength, and fitness that combines ballet barre work, core conditioning, muscle strengthening, yoga, and orthopedic exercises. All movement is controlled and very focused, effective, and safe. Proper alignment is the primary focus, and each set of exercises is followed by a series of active stretches to develop flexibility alongside strength.
Zia has been inspired by and committed to movement practices and mindbody awareness since she was a teen, and as a result has pursued Yoga and fitness to supplement and inform her dancing. She was immediately hooked on The Dailey Method for its intelligent principles of alignment, its postural benefits, and its intrinsic benefits to her moving body.
Zia's approach to fitness is grounded in self love, and holistic health. She believes a healthy relationship to your body comes from doing what you love, what feeds your well being on every level, and supports you to make more positive and empowering choices in every part of your life.
